Bittersweet Endings
Our last stop in Vietnam was Halong Bay. This place did not disappoint! It was absolutely stunning. We sailed across the bay and stopped to see another one of the massive caves that seem to be so prevalent here. Afterwards we went to a swimming area. It was a little crowded so we decided to spend the time relaxing on the sand, then returned to the boat to see the sunset. Usually the sky is so hazy here that there isn’t really a sunset/sunrise to be seen. However that night, we caught a little glimpse of magic.
The three weeks went by so fast that I don’t think any of us were really ready for goodbye. But unfortunately all good things have to come to an end. Vietnam, thank you for teaching me so much about the strength and kindness of the human spirit. To my three amigos, thanks for all the adventures. Newfoundland, my “imaginary island”, is always welcome to you. ❤️
